Characters: Bert, Caroline, Jill, Kathy, Lynda, Ruth, Sid

• Sid and Kathy are starting the re-decoration of the room formerly known as the the Hassett Room with a certain amount of meloncholy. Caroline checks on their progress and it turns out that she and Sid have discussed the issue of cooking and maybe Kathy would be the new chef for the Hassett Room, Mark II? Kathy’s distinctly unhappy at this turn of events.
• Lynda’s having a casting headache with Lysander and Demetria, similarly with Titania, enlisting Jill’s help to get Lizzie for that role. Apparently Larry Lovell has been trying to contact her too, she might deign to give him a walk-on …..
• Jill and Ruth are discussing the Phil-David stalemate, which, apparently, marred the previous evening’s meal celebrating Ruth’s birthday. They can see that David is worried about not buying it and agree that Phil is right to be cautious, but can’t see a way through it.
• After being late and drunk when returning from the umpire’s course last week Bert is under strict orders from Freda to be home by 10-30. At 11-45 he rolls up to the Bull citing lost keys. He gets Sid to lend him a ladder as, although Freda’s gone to bed, the bathroom window is open. Unfortunately, ladder wielding at midnight is beyond their capabilities as they manage to smash the greenhouse and wake Freda …..
