Characters: Christine, David, Jack, Jill, Kenton, Peggy, Phil, Shula
- Shula’s fretting about the preparations for the anniversary party, but there looks to be enough food and, soon enough Jill and Phil visit Christine and George and are out from under the feet of the children.
- Christine’s still worried about George’s progress, he’s being distinctly lackadaisical about everything – indeed the only thing he seems to be certain on, in common with the rest of the village, is that Eddie was not involved in his attack.
- Jack and Peggy are early for the party, and while waiting Jack is fidgeting wanting to ring a colleague who was at his shoot yesterday and he wants to know what he thought. Eventually he rang and wasn’t pleased to find that Brian had re-arranged events, using a different range, one that his colleague had been looking forward to. Words are to be swapped – but after the party is over.
- The party is going well and just gets better for Jill and Phil as the prodigal son returns, pleasing all with the surprise of his re- arrival, gifts and smiles all round, although John and Hayley’s absence was noted and Pat will be having words in the morning …
