Characters: Bert, Clarrie, Hayley, Joe, Lynda, Roy, Susan

• Joe’s baiting Bert about the previous night’s antics, which has even wider significance as Freda has embarked on an anti-cricket kick and is refusing to do the tea on Saturday. Everyone else has an excuse, so Bert’s going to do it himself ….
• Graham’s showing interesting parties around the estate, which isn’t pleasing Joe particularly.
• Hayley manages to convince Roy to read in the rehearsal, he does a reasonable Lysander but is adamant that he’s not going to actually perform, but some brow-beating from Hayley and Lynda does result in him offering to continue reading in rehearsals.
• Clarrie and Susan are practicing ahead of the Boules team’s first fixture tomorrow. Susan’s still worried about Clive, but seems to be washing her hair of him. Clarrie’s happy though because their dairy building is really taking shape.
