Characters: Hayley, Jill, Pat, Phil, Tom, Tommy, Tony

• 0630. Keepers Cottage. Operation Marrow Replacement: Hayley and Tommy are attempting a clandestine recovery of marrow number two. Tom’s overhears them but doesn’t catch them, they run with a substitute for the now made-into-jam ex-potential-prize marrow.
• Pat and Tony receive information that the hunt will be crossing their, or rather the estate’s, land and while Pat’s not happy, Tony’s not sure there’s much she can do.
• It’s the Flower and Produce show and Hayley and Tommy are trying to keep Tom away from the marrows lest he discover that it’s not his best marrow that’s been entered. Tom’s getting suspicious but he’s also a little worried about the two huge ugly looking characters he spied in his garden that morning …. Phil’s one of the judges and, despite the chicanery, Tom wins the marrow competition – and Hayley’s blackberry jam gets a commendation!
• Phil and Jill are discussing their pleasure at the arrival of another grandchild and Jill’s worrying whether Ruth and David feel cramped by her attention.
• Hayley and Tommy come clean to Tom, but he’s not that worried. He and Hayley have a slightly sentimental chat as he reminisces about his life with Pru. He’s obviously very fond of her and is giving lots of advice to not jump into marriage, but to wait until the right person comes along.
