• Nigel has plans for Lizzie’s upcoming 30th but she wants it kept quiet. She’s had a frantic phone call from Hugh and is off to an emergency conference in Rome for ten days.
• The Hygiene inspector cancelled his appointment at Grange Farm for tomorrow, but will come on Friday, so they may yet start selling next week.
• Caroline’s meets an incredibly dull person called Douglas for lunch in The Bull. He’s a Roman coin dealer and can’t shut up about his ex-wife. They are seen by Nigel and Lizzie (who always see Simon and Debbie there). Later Caroline excuses herself and persuades Nigel to go and tell Douglas that she had to leave because of an emergency at work!
• James Miller and Eddie go over his evidence, his statement defends some of his practices but in a practice cross-examination he shows that he must try harder to stay cool when criticsed.
• Joe skulked to the Bull. Where he and Eddie are left to ponder that they’ve still no farming witness to back up their case.
