Characters: Brian, Janet, Jennifer, Lizzie, Lynda, Nigel, Phil, Susan
- Brian’s visiting Graham to get some yield figures, he’s not in and Susan, who knows nothing about it, isn’t going to give him them. He claims to admire her loyalty and promises that he’ll do his best to make sure that her job is safe after the sale.
- Janet pays a follow-up visit to Susan, who is grateful for the shoulder but doesn’t seem to get further than the “but he’s my brother” conclusion.
- The rehearsals are underway at Lower Loxley and, presumably thanks to their reconciliation, the frisson of tension between Nigel and Lizzie has disappeared from their performances. Later though, as the cast assemble and Lynda is late, Lizzie’s realising the effect on their work and the edge looks set to return. The worst news though is that Lynda has had some bad news. No, Tam hasn’t yet died, Damien has withdrawn from the play!
- Phil visits a busy Brian who realised that he’s not going to be able to fob him off. Phil’s worried that, as Brian is only one of the buyers, that we is in no position to promise Brookfield work. Brian assures Phil that he’s on board as the farming consultant, so he’s nothing to worry about.
