Roy and Jolene both enter new phases in their lives.
Radio Times: Roy drops a bombshell and Kenton sets Jolene a challenge.
Characters: Caroline, Fallon, Jolene, Kenton, Oliver, Roy- Having talked it over with Hayley, Roy has decided to take up Elizabeth’s offer. Hayley is as excited as he is. Now he just needs to tell Caroline.
- Jolene has tried but at the moment Jamie will not budge about going home. Kathy isn’t really surprised. Now Jolene is worrying about leaving Fallon with an extra problem when she goes away with Kenton but Fallon is looking forward to Easter. Harry and Rhys will be doing their bit so it is all sorted.
- It seems to Caroline that Roy is taking a long time to come to the point and she is pushed for time; thanking her for giving him a chance to get started sounds rather like a farewell speech. Indeed that’s what it is. It is of course a surprise; Caroline had no idea that Roy was looking elsewhere. The Lower Loxley job offers new opportunities. It’s not just the money. Caroline will not be able to change his mind.
- Caroline is adamant that is the last time she does anyone a good turn but Oliver will have none of it: even if she had known the outcome, she would not have stood by and watched Elizabeth go under without helping. Caroline wonders whether she can manage without replacing Roy but Oliver doesn’t like the sound of that: he wants to spend more time with his wife, not less.
- Kenton calls at The Bull and Jolene assures him that, everything being under control at The Bull, she will be quite happy – no, very happy – to go to Monte Carlo with him. Jolene feels that her life is entering a new phase which she wants to mark in some way. Kenton suggests giving up smoking – starting right now.
