Matt is working hard at accumulating brownie points from Lilian.
Radio Times: Matt makes an effort, and Joe is worried.
Characters: Eddie, Hayley, Joe, Joyce, Matt, Vicky- Full marks for trying! Matt is paying a visit to Joyce Walters to check that all her wishes are accommodated as he organises her new flat. He takes her over to see it; she is very impressed with the non-slip kitchen floor. Anything else? She suggests grab rails to help her get around when she gets even more doddery. No problem; Matt will ensure that all her wishes are carried out to the highest standard.
- At the Tree Dressing, Hayley is keeping the kids amused. Eddie notes that Ed and Emma have not come; it’s not surprising that they are not in a party mood. They haven’t yet told George about the move. Joe takes it upon himself to help George make a lantern and cheer him up in the process. Eddie is cheerful: he has sold the last turkey.
- As she explains to Hayley, Vicky is beginning to think about a birthing plan; because the baby has Downs syndrome, the birth will necessarily be in hospital.
- Before he leaves, Matt gets some straight talking from Joyce: if he had been as diligent maintaining her present home, perhaps Arthur would be able to enjoy the new flat too!
