• Jolene is bursting to tell Lilian her news, which is received with appropriate ecstasy. The details of the wedding have yet to be discussed, though Jolene certainly intends to take the Archer name and to have an engagement ring. Lilian needs to go: she has an awkward problem to resolve. Not the asbestos, though that is turning into a nightmare, but they have had a cheque bounce; the balance in their account is way below what she expected.
• William is expecting to collect a new dog on Saturday, another Springer. Right now, Eddie is helping him release some new poults. Eddie is curious about names for the new baby and is full of ideas – none acceptable. He thought Nic looks well; she has a real glow. Will explains that she is finding the heat trying. William has a meeting later with Brian and Martin Gibson to discuss corporate shooting guests.
• Lynda is in her element, helping Oliver to organise things in Caroline’s absence. She acknowledges that the fete went well, though still thinks her poet would have been better; Oliver dryly observe that Ambridge muddled through. When Will arrives at Grey Gables for his meeting, his boots do not pass muster with Lynda: side entrance please!
• Lilian meets Amside’s Business Adviser at the bank and all becomes clear. The injurious withdrawals have all been made on Matt’s card. Right! Stop both accounts immediately.
