  • After his weekend celebrating his mother’s birthday, Rob rings Helen. He’s busy at the dairy but is sure he can take a couple of hours off later to see her.
  • Appalled at the prospect of Ray’s Mexican night, Lynda has a suggestion to make; she has sourced some ancient Mayan recipes, and is sure she could persuade Jim Lloyd to give an after-dinner talk on Mayan temple architecture. Ray cuts her short; what Grey Gables wants is tortillas, moustaches and Mexican hats. Lynda remains appalled and speechless.
  • Kirsty tells Helen about the wildlife at the wetland, but Helen’s mind is on other things. Kirsty thinks they should enter their jewellery in the Flower and Produce show and Helen agrees. Then Kirsty asks about Rob’s weekend; did he mention Jess? Fortunately for Helen, Tom arrives at that moment.
  • Helen goes to the gym at Grey Gables before her hoped-for meeting with Rob. She encounters Lynda in search of Ray. Furious, she tackles him about someone having downgraded the Hamiltons, regular and valued guests, to an inferior room. Ray has done it to accommodate a famous travel journalist. Airily he tells Lynda to use her charm and offer the Hamiltons a discount. Lynda is again appalled and speechless.
  • Rob rings to say that he has a crisis in the dairy and won’t be able to see Helen. Tomorrow more cows are arriving… and so on. Helen will try to be patient.
  • Tom and Kirsty enjoy reminiscing together with much laughter, and share a chocolate brownie. When she asks Tom about his cash-flow problem, Tom is none too truthful. Kirsty says she has finished with Damien, and she and Tom enjoy a laugh and a chocolate brownie. What seems to be the verge of a tender moment is shattered by Henry. It looks as though Kirsty will have to try to be patient, too.
