  • Brian is in good form anticipating Martyn Gibson’s sour reaction when he finds there is nothing to criticise at Berrow Farm. Jenny asks him to drop their Christmas beef order in at Brookfield; her email is playing up. Brian is full of praise for Rob’s achievements; he is a different man since his father-in-law’s funeral. Jenny is anxious to invite Rob and Jess to dinner on Jess’s next visit.
  • Lynda admits to Ruth that she is short of male actors, though has many offers of backstage help. Robert has not yet agreed to play Friar Tuck, but Lynda is sure she will talk him round.
  • Tom and Kirsty pay Peggy a birthday visit. She is delighted with the scarf they have bought her, and to see them together. They remind her of the time when she and the first Jack got together. Later, Kirsty admits to Tom that she was affected by Peggy’s sadness that Jack No.2 no longer recognises her.
  • Brian duly calls at Brookfield, only to discover that Jenny’s order has arrived six times. He is not sure what Jenny has planned for his birthday, only that he has had to clear a space in his diary. When Ruth mentions their Silver Wedding, David affects a lack of interest, but later escapes to ‘help’ Josh with something.
  • Despite having to play opposite two-timing Titchener, Kirsty is determined to go ahead with the panto. After seeing Peggy she knows she must make the most of every opportunity. But when Lynda gives her a song to learn, Kirsty is not so sure; it’s a love duet and she will have to sing looking lovingly into Rob’s eyes.
