- Jazzer and Jim share the problems of living with hosts rather than in their own home. Shula is offended by pork pies on the sofa. Jim’s cottage isn’t likely to be ready until Easter however. Even the village hall will be finished first. A random person called Barry has asked Jazzer to help. And Jim has had the joy of looking at curtain material with Shula. Everyone is startled at something which may or may not have happened to/been caused to/been self-inflicted to Barry but we are not privy to what.
- Kenton asks Jim and Jazzer to take the lead on Burn’s night. Jim is keen on telling everyone the Babylonian history of whisky but Kenton thinks something lighter. Jim is insistent though that they only use real Burns poetry. Jazzer might fool Lynda, but not him.
- Brian visits Charlie to look at what might be for sale at Berrow Farm. Charlie is despondent. He has failed. Brian tells him he has messed up many times in his life. Charlie wonders how he dealt with it. Brian just says he needs to grow a thicker skin and get on with it. Brian wishes Charlie were staying to rein Adam in but Charlie thinks Adam is admirable. Brian says Adam respects Charlie’s position. Charlie says some things aren’t meant to be.
