Radio Times: Johnny needs a wingman, and Ian worries if he’s done the right thing.

Characters: Adam, Freddie, Ian, Johnny, Lily, Phoebe

• Phoebe lends a hand getting the Lower Loxley party off the ground, but Freddie remains incarcerated in his room, refusing to join in.
• Both Adam and Ian are distracted; Ian because he is worried that he has encouraged Lily to have a party without her mother’s knowledge, and Adam because a meeting with Rob failed to result in the usual nastiness. Instead, Rob seemed distracted. Whatever could be on Rob’s mind?
• Johnny’s nerve fails when he sets eyes on Lily’s girlfriends. He has his eye on Amber, but lacks the courage to speak to her. Phoebe deserts him to dance, so Johnny goes upstairs to rout Freddie out. It’s hard work, but eventually Freddie agrees, and finds music he prefers to Lily’s choice.
• Adam and Ian drive to Lower Loxley to check that all is well. Lily thinks the car must mean that Lewis has returned, so is glad to see Ian and Adam, and asks them in. Ian ends up making popcorn and bruschetta while Freddie and others go skinny dipping in the lake.
• Johnny is clearly a fickle swain, Seeing Amber all over Harry, he loses no time in chatting up Naomi and getting her phone number. Phoebe enjoys the dancing, Freddie finds the party much less awful than he feared, and Adam and Ian are able to laugh at the idea of their gate-crashing a teenage party
• Back home, Adam manages to broach the subject of their separate bedrooms. He fully understands Ian’s feelings, but Ian thinks it’s time to move back together. So much happiness down to a party.
