Matt is a difficult patient and Justin makes his feelings clear.
Radio Times: Justin issues an ultimatum. Alistair has concerns
Characters: Alistair, Jill, Justin, Lilian, Matt, Shula- Having left Lilian to have a lie in, Justin returns to the Dower House and wants to suggest that they have lunch at a pub in Felpersham but he is aware that Lilian will be visiting Matt. He complains that she is a strong woman but is allowing Matt to take advantage of her. Justin demands that she stops seeing Matt.
- Jill is visiting Shula and Alistair for lunch. They discuss the success of the hunt ball, and Alistair says they need to promote the veterinary surgery to make up for some of the custom they recently lost. Shula is concerned that she may be breaching hunt etiquette by doing so.
- Matt is impatient to leave and discharges himself. He asks Lilian to book a room at Grey Gables in her name, and not to book him a suite. He doesn’t want anyone to know he is there.
- Jill is concerned that Shula is overdoing it, but discreetly declines the offer of a cup of tea, realising that Shula and Alistair have things to discuss. Alistair praises Shula but she feels awful at having had bad thoughts about Matt’s accident. Alistair jokes about her mowing him down, forgetting that Mark died in a car accident. She is less than impressed.
- Shula pops over to Brookfield to bring Jill the reading glasses she left behind earlier. Shula says that she and Alistair are not really getting on recently. Jill tells them to stop it and remember why they love each other.
- Lilian arrives home to see Justin with a suitcase. He is off to London, but will be back if she gives him reason to. Just as he departs, he informs her that the sale of the Dower House went through last Friday. She later helps Matt to settle in bed in his room in Grey Gables. He wants his laptop to do some emails, and asks Lilian to get him some over the counter pain killers and a cheap PAYG mobile, despite his own mobile being undamaged. He doesn’t want anyone to know he is unwell, as it would be bad for business.
