Characters: David, Eddie, Hayley, Jill, John, Roy, Shula
- John was too tired from pig tending to take Hayley out for pancakes. She was further annoyed when he feigned ignorance of Valentine’s day. It transpires though that he has surprise plans which need the help of Roy and Kate …
- Shula visits at Grange Farm to see Clarrie about a peace quilt and talks to Eddie, apologising for not being at the estate any more and promises to ask David again about the trailer.
- David is still working on the Grange Farm figures, and isn’t too happy with the fact that even with no subsidies likely economies of scale with the rest of the estate would make the estate money anyway. There’s a strong case and as much as David abhors it he doesn’t know if he’d do it any differently ….
- Shula asking for Eddie and starts reading David’s report with resulting sharp words. She is fuming that he’s prepared to give Simon all the ammunition and isn’t neighbourly enough to lend them a trailer. Though the facts may be facts she isn’t happy at his conclusions and storms out.
- David meets Eddie in the Bull and says that tomorrow he might accidentally leave the trailer and loader out. By his big barn. He might be so forgetful as to leave the keys too. They’d be parked well away from where he’s working tomorrow. He’d never notice their absence if they were back before the day’s end. And he doesn’t know anything about the fact that Eddie might somehow know these things …..
