Characters: Debbie, Hayley, Jennifer, John, Kate, Roy, Tony

• Tony and Pat are no nearer a compromise and he tries to enlist, rather rudely, a reluctant John and Hayley onto his side, with the “what would you want to inherit?” angle.
• Jennifer’s slightly miffed at having the news of Clive already known to her daughters. She’s also curious at why Debbie seemed so cross at Brian. She explains it was about Brian’s handling of the potential purchase of estate land and it’s obvious that he’s not been talking to Jennifer either.
• Kate (Helena) and Hayley (Hermia) want Roy (Demetria) and John (Lysander) to be in the cast for a Midsummer Night’s Dream, although they’re none too keen, prefering their cricket committments! Or, as Roy put it, neither fancies poncing about in tights! Kate and Hayley promise to find some replacement men if they’re not interested ….
• Tony visits Home Farm to talk to Brian, but chats to Jennifer instead. She tries to convince him that land-owning isn’t so great and maybe a secure tenancy isn’t such a bad thing, but he wants to experience ownership for himself.
