• Pip’s first day at school and Ruth’s rather upset at the ease with which she left.
• While David wasn’t at nets, he’s been picked for the final team ahead of Tommy – who isn’t happy – and, as a result of team pressure, Sean has asked Marjorie to score, rather than Martin Taylor.
• Sharon’s asked for work in (and been turned down by) both the Bull and the Cat. Later, John visits and tries to tell her that Friday had been an aberation and that there’s nothing between them any more.
• Marjorie has remembered where she saw the burglar before – several years previously, at a village fete, he had been in a group of lads (which included Clive) who’d been making nuisance. She’s off to tell the police that afternoon, but doesn’t like to think she’s inplicating Clive.
• Tom has given Hayley Pru’s famous blackberry jam recipe and there’s going to words about that if the news gets out ahead of the flower and produce show ….
