• Phil and David are looking over the Brookfield books and it’s going to have to be a very good year next year to bring them back on track. Meanwhile Ruth is at a Salsa class with Usha, who asks her whether she’s planning on following through with the consultancy job. She’s not really sure, but it would be interesting and the money would be useful, so she’s definitely going to apply for the post.
• David and Ruth invite his parents to recover from the Wedding reception on Christmas Eve by spending Christmas Day with them at the bungalow. Jill declines, citing a visiting Nigel and Lizzie as reasons.
• Lizzie, though, is considering working that day so as to be able to save no on the cost of staff – the roof has been looked at and the news is not good. It’s looking bleak and there’s going to be a lot of (expensive) work required.
