• Outside the church, Jennifer tells Elizabeth that the university will soon release the soldiers’ bones. Nigel plans to have them buried at Loxley Barratt.
• Will stands apart, sticking close to Clarrie, until Roy comes across to take him inside.
• Abigail Elizabeth Tucker is baptised. Godmother Elizabeth, feeling broody holding Abbie, gave a cross and chain. Godfather Will is thanked for his photo frame but wants to depart and makes clear mum bought it. A “ray of sunshine” complains Hayley after he’s gone.
• Clarrie regrets Betty not being there. She tells William that Ed’s at Jazzer’s for the day. Will guesses correctly Ed will spend his birthday evening with Emma. The card from Nic arrived. Will texted back that meeting up again was not a good idea.
• Alice leaves with a full car and a last minute cash-injection from dad. He’s pleased with how relations have improved since she left last year. Jenny ticks him off for not learning from it; he’s keeping secrets from Debbie and Adam.
