Adam and Charlie clash again.

Radio Times: Charlie annoys Adam, and Jennifer tries to help Pat.

Characters: , , , , ,
  • The kitchen works being still in progress, Brian has sought refuge in The Bull and Jennifer spends some time with Adam, though she cannot stray far from the house and her tea-making duties.
  • David has done another stint on the tractor when he encounters Charlie – looking for Adam; he wants to tell him that the field will need another going over as the tilth is not fine enough. David’s comment that they are only planting maize draws an expression of gratitude for his help but not for his advice.
  • On his way home, David calls on Brian, now back at Home Farm. David quizzes Brian on the report in last week’s Echo of a new road. Aren’t BL buying up land in the area? Brian knows nothing.
  • Jennifer pays Pat a visit, only to witter on about her kitchen and the mess the place is in at present. She tries to off-load her old units onto Pat but kitchens are not currently high on Pat’s agenda. Jennifer briefly realises how crass she has been, then goes on to relate the incident with Kate when they had to travel to Cornwall to identify a body. Just what Pat wanted to hear!
  • Adam turns up at Home Farm in a strop. With David working on the tractor he had switched off his phone and had been catching up on his sleep. Charlie had only hammered on his door to deliver his instruction about going over the maize field again. Adam’s mood is not improved by Brian’s opinion that Charlie has a point: in an ideal world a fine tilth is better for planting maize. Thanks for the support, Brian.
