Adam is made to see other points of view. Emma is made to feel in the wrong.

Radio Times: Emma has horrible doubts and Ian begins to lose patience.

Characters: , , , , , ,
  • Ian brings Adam some sandwiches, and comments on how much Adam loves his work. Sullen as ever, Adam says he does when he is left to get on with it. Ian asks when he is going to give Brian an answer; Adam will do so when he is ready. He refuses to let Brian see him as a pushover.
  • David helps Ed fix a quad-bike. It will be months before the insurance pay up for the barn, but someone is coming to make it safe. Emma joins them, but when David asks whether she has heard any more from the police, Emma becomes upset. It is bad enough having Susan and Tracy going on at her, saying she made the Keith story up.
  • Adam meets Ian at The Bull to find him deep in conversation with Pawel about good food. Pawel thinks that agri-business is wrong. If more people realised the value of good food, farming methods would change. As they leave, Adam becomes even more sullen. He thinks Pawel is a know-all. Ian suggests that compromise is possible, which is an excuse for Adam to flare up once again about Brian. Ian defends Brian, forcing Adam to admit people like Pawel have vision.
  • When Emma calls at Brookfield to pick up Keira’s toy pig, Ruth asks her about Keith, not intending to upset Emma, who runs home in tears. She sobs to Ed that no-one believes her; first of all her family and now David and Ruth. She wonders whether she should ring the police to say she got it wrong. Ed tells her to stand firm. He believes her, and if Keith is responsible, he should go to prison. He just has to face up to it.
