  • Back from church at Darrington, Jennifer reports on the absent Shula who has invited Jennifer to go to the Cathedral with her sometime. As he goes off to see Tom, Brian has Jennifer’s advice to be tactful ringing in his ears.
  • Will is enjoying a weekend in Ambridge and bumps into Tom. He would like to talk to Brian while he is here about tips gained in Gloucestershire; Tom, on the other hand, has no wish to talk to Brian and he explains their “fundamental split”. Talk of the devil – here comes Brian.
  • Fallon is very annoyed with Jolene because of her part in ‘losing’ the flat. She is all for going to see Peggy but Jolene discourages this.
  • Will tells Brian about the buggies which the Gloucestershire shoot use for moving beaters about. Will is looking forward to coming back; he wasn’t tempted to stay, although the offer has been made.
  • Back in The Bull, Fallon’s saga is interrupted by Will’s arrival. Fallon explains the flat situation and Will corrects the picture: Helen is having the flat. That doesn’t bring Fallon any comfort.
  • Pigs sorted, Tom deigns to call on Brian but declines both coffee and a seat. When Brian explains what he has done, Tom is furious, but Brian has arranged for the supermarket deal to go ahead without Tom, thanks to Maurice and Hannah. Tom storms off, telling Brian he is not involved and Brian can do what the hell he likes.
