  • Ruth shows Usha, who’s escaping from the decorators, the new intensive grazing paddock system. Apparently, Phil was impressed too. Usha’s Blossom Hill Cottage isn’t letting. The agent says it’s because it’s furnished with Alan’s furniture.
  • Jennifer’s feeling guilty again about leaving Mum to go to Hungary. Pat sets her straight; they’ll manage. Lynda wants Alice’s email address to conscript her into the panto. Pat prompts Jennifer in declining and then flees herself.
  • Usha explains to Alan that those who’ve managed to sell want to rent while prices continue to crash further. And they’ve their own furniture. Alan thinks of improbable ways to keep the furniture in the family but then settles on it having to go. Usha, pleased, relaxes into allowing his bookcase back into his study. Unfortunately, encouraged by this he decides to ponder on it some more; they’re making progress.
  • Lynda catches Pat at home. Is new recruit Hannah a panto Jill? But the Monday week start means that’s too late. Sabrina would have been a contender but Robert cast her as Jack.
  • Jennifer arrives to tell Pat one of the agencies has someone who can help get Jack up a few times a week and sit with him. She can go to Hungary with a clear conscience.
