Pat is worried Jack won’t cope with his party but Lilian is sure it will be fine – it is family. But they have managed to produce extra DVDs of Dad’s Army. Never mind, he’ll enjoy them. Tony isn’t able to be there – problems with his irrigation pipes apparently but Lilian doesn’t believe her.
Alice has turned up at the party but is simply refusing to speak to Brian. It goes reasonably well otherwise until Ruairi starts to cry which upsets Jack and really throws Jennifer. Alice does go to find her to comfort her though, before she drops her bombshell that she is planning to join the RAF. Only Lilian can find anything positive to say.
