Alistair has another option to selling his practice completely.

Radio Times: Shula wants Alistair to reconsider, and Neil gets in the mood.

Characters: , , , , ,
  • Lilian is worrying about her nephew working all hours, while Ian is left alone. Adam tells her they are trying to patch things up but just now it doesn’t feel right. Lilian advises to give it more time, but avoiding Ian won’t help!
  • Neil is not embracing his diet regime wholeheartedly, though he has to admit that Susan’s soup is rather good.
  • One of Adam’s rams is getting Alistair’s attention; he hopes this level of service will continue when Alistair is with Lovell James. Shula interrupts with news of a phone call from Anisha Jayakoday; she’s a vet from Worcester who has heard about Alistair selling up and she is interested in buying in to the practice.
  • Tired and hungry, Neil is not impressed with what Susan has prepared for tea. Actually it’s not to eat; it’s a face pack and it will soothe his poor wind-blown, rain-lashed face. What? Susan will do it too, while the chilli con carne defrosts.
  • Shula is busy arranging the bell ringers’ supper but is keen to know how Alistair’s call to Anisha went. She is an equine expert and does not see enough horses where she is. She is coming for Sunday lunch and to look round.
  • Neil is pleasantly surprised by the rather sensual face pack and suggests that, since they are both in their dressing gowns, they might delay the chilli; it will be better for keeping. It’s Susan’s own fault: one of her magazines has an article on ‘peak performance’ and how to achieve it. So the doorbell is an embarrassing and unwelcome intrusion. It’s Shula, about the bell ringers’ supper, but she can see they are busy. Some other time.
