Ambridge cricket team scrape a win. Rob intrudes on Pat and Tony’s day with Henry – again!
Radio Times: Henry wants to follow in Rob’s footsteps, and Joe has got plans for Bartleby.
Characters: Dorothy, Eddie, Fallon, Henry, Joe, Pat, Rob, Tony- Many hands make light work, so Fallon is glad of some help with the cricket teas from Dorothy, Dan’s girlfriend. It’s a good opportunity to learn about each other’s background; Dorothy is not keen on team games, preferring things like rock climbing and kayaking. Rob is also watching the cricket and apparently has been giving the new captain the benefit of his advice.
- Pat, Tony and Henry are there too. Rob has no reticence about talking to Henry (in contrast to the earlier occasion when he warned Tom off). Pat informs Rob that the holiday has been arranged – in Tenby. Rob promises Henry a treat for later; it turns out to be a cricket bat and ball. Pat fears an injury but Rob declares that only babies play with a softball. Henry wants to be just like daddy. (Heaven forbid!)
- The Grundys are discussing the problems of Elf World and Joe reveals his ideas about Bartleby being their secret attraction – a flying talking horse, but he only speaks elf language. Alas, Bartleby is not so keen on the wings, so the idea is not going to fly.
- Tea duty over, Fallon explains to Dorothy all the things she has to do for the fete. Getting the committee to agree to anything is a struggle; Lynda was good at that. There is some good news: Felpersham City’s Brazilian central defender has agreed to open the fete.
