An unlikely matchmaker
Radio Times: An unlikely matchmaker
Characters: Alistair, Hayley, Helen, Jennifer, Lynda, Pat, Roy, Tommy- In preperation for the forthcoming farm walk, Roy’s brought across some penning equipment so Hayley and Tommy can put Eric the boar nearer the farmhouse so people might see him better.
- Hayley and Helen continue to cross swords. Helen’s trying to hold out an olive branch which Hayley, still seemingly sore that Helen wasn’t around during the grieving for John, seems unwilling to grasp.
- Lynda, courtesy of Grey Gables’ computer, has printed out 200 copies of the quiz sheet and has “mistakenly” written that it’s in aid of the Ambridge (not Aldridge) Millennium Wood. Alistair is the first to buy one and, in a neighbourly gesture, Lynda offers to lend him her sit-up-and-beg for the sponsored bicycle ride.
- Jennifer breaks the news to an almost incredulous Lynda that Home Farm won’t be hosting any car boot sales and, from the responses from others, neither will anywhere else. More fundraising ideas are required to meet the target figure of £18,000 to create an endowment fund to cover the maintenance costs.
- Roy is determined to try and talk to Kate, to sort things out, although she’s not in. He talks to her mother instead who insists that the courts are not the way that she and Brian want to go either, but that Kate might not be particularly receptive to his approaches.
