Radio Times: Shula clinches the deal, but Alistair remains cold

Characters: , , , , ,
  • It’s celebration time at the Stables as, after many drafts and discussions, Chris and Shula finally become legal partners. Phil brings across a bottle of champagne to mark the occasion of his sister and daughter working together. Chris is happy the stables are staying in the family and Shula’s finally doing something that equates to a dream job. Not quite so dreamlike is Alistair’s presence treating a horse, he’s declines some champers, citing another appointment. Shula rushes after him and tries, unsuccessfully, to persuade him to have a drink. He refuses again, but wishes her luck with her partnership ….
  • It’s Josh’s first birthday on Sunday and his parents are planning a lunch party to celebrate. Inviting friends and family might not be so easy, as Usha won’t want to come if Shula’s there and Alistair gives his “thanks, but no thanks” too.
  • Phil and Ruth are discussing disappointing numbers associated with their dairy herd. Phil’s trying very hard to not say “I told you so” and that the expansion was a bad idea and is less than convinced by Ruth’s arguments about the longer term average improving. He does cheer up with the news, via some B&B guests, that Australia celebrated father’s day last weekend, so Kenton’s card wasn’t three months late – it was bang on time!
