Anisha is the hero of the day; Justin attempts to airbrush Rob from the Ambridge scene.

• Lilian and Justin enjoy a secret phone call before he heads back to London with Miranda. He assures her that Rob is off the scene, as is Stefan. The former has been drummed out of town; the latter has been “paid off”. He thinks he hears Miranda and has to end the call quickly. He phones Brian to make arrangements to keep him up to speed. Brian agrees to a meeting in about an hour or so.
• Peggy and Jill meet up at St Stephen’s. As the organ plays, Jill comments that they are so lucky to have reminders of times gone past. She can almost see Phil playing the organ as they speak. They agree that throughout a lifetime there are good times and bad. Jill admits that everyone makes mistakes and that it is often difficult to take advice from others, especially when it’s right.
• Shula introduces Lilian to Anisha before they all ride off for a few hours of exploration. Anisha’s mount ‘Missy’ is well admired by one and all before Shula suggests they ride down to the village green and meet up with friends as planned. From there, they’ll head off to Loxley Barrett and then wend their way home. A grand way to spend some time and see the countryside.
• As the organ finishes, Peggy and Jill realise that the church is empty, but they decide to stay a little longer. Peggy comments that as one gets older, it seems that folk are more likely to forgive one’s errors, no matter how foolish they may seem. Jill admits that over the past 60 years of attending St Stephen’s, she’s lost count of the times she has wanted to put a brick through Grace Archer’s window. Amidst peals of laughter, Peggy suggests they could do it right now if Jill wished, as nobody would believe that they had done it.
• Calamity! Delia, one of those out for a hack with Shula, has taken a fall along with her mount. Though it looks very serious, Anisha’s sure that the horse isn’t badly injured and gets him to his feet. Delia will wait to be given a lift home by her husband and Shula will walk the horse back to the stables. Anisha and the others will carry on with their ride. Anisha insists that someone should keep an eye on the horse for a day or so.
• Justin puts Brian in the picture regarding Rob. It’s just not the same picture that was witnessed yesterday. Justin’s story is that Rob has been headhunted by an overseas firm, possibly his old employer. To Brian’s surprise, Rob seems to have left already. Justin feels somewhat let down but Rob’s management abilities were already showing, making it seem that he’d been over promoted. Justin has no difficulty with Brian spreading the news to other members of the family. He gives him ‘carte blanche’ to tell who he likes.
