Brian continues to research the supermarket deal without Tom’s knowledge.

Radio Times: Brian makes some duplicitous discoveries.

Characters: Brian, Hannah, Jazzer, Jennifer, Mike, Neil

• In Mike’s view, Neil has done a really good job on the kitchen units in the flat. He likes the tiles too – Christopher’s choice. Neil is impressed with the help Christopher has given him but he still doesn’t know why!
• Jazzer is finding that Hannah is still playing hard to get but his spiel is interrupted by Brian, ostensibly looking for Tom, but who is interested in whether Jazzer could cope with increased production. What, they wonder, was that all about, especially as he was so evasive about Tom’s involvement.
• Brian’s next stop is Neil to ask whether he could suggest a local source of pig meat for an early increase in production. Neil’s question about how Tom feels is evaded – he is busy and has delegated the research to Brian. Neil will make some calls but is confident.
• Over tea laced with whisky, Jazzer has another try to date Hannah but she will have none of it – never mix business with pleasure was her mum’s advice. But they can still be friends.
• Jennifer is curious to know when Brian intends to let Tom in on his supermarket plans. Not yet! He wants to have it all worked out first, including a replacement for Hannah. Then Tom will have no chance to shoot it down. Brian is confident that Tom will come round.
