  • As Jim and Robert discuss the SAVE campaign at The Bull, Brian arrives and gives vent to his feelings about the female occupants of Home Farm. As if the arrival of Kate had not been enough, he now has to tolerate Lilian, who will be arriving later. Jenny is flapping about her interview with Radio Borsetshire so there is not a moment’s peace. Robert sagely offers to impart the news to Lynda that Jennifer will be fronting the media campaign.
  • Johnny has passed his exams, and is happy to be concentrating on farming. Tom arrives as Johnny and Neil move fencing posts, and picks up on a certain hostility from Neil.
  • Brian is appalled to see just how much Lilian intends bringing to Home Farm. His anxieties are increased when she comments that she will be glad to see the back of the Dower House.
  • An afternoon’s bird watching proves to be the source of considerable rivalry between Jim and Robert, with each accusing the other of using professional help to log rare species. When raised voices startle the bird life, they agree it should be just a bit of fun- but Robert will report his sightings to Jim, won’t he?
