Brian seems to be in a good mood but is shocked about the miscarriage. Dan is behaving strangely.

Radio Times: Brian’s being pestered by Borchester Land, and Dan’s keeping fit.

• Shula takes it upon herself to tell Jennifer about Ruth’s miscarriage though whether Ruth wanted her to know doesn’t seem to have occurred to her. She tells Jennifer she’ll have to be sensitive! Jennifer tries to tell Brian about it but he’s not interested and she isn’t impressed when he finds out that he has invited Adam and Rob for lunch.
• Shula is wondering why Dan is suddenly obsessed with keeping fit. He says it makes him feel good. But then she wonders again when he says he is off to “do stuff” in Felpersham but doesn’t say what. And he’s equally cautious when she talks to him later.
• Brian seems very cheerful over lunch and congratulates Rob and Adam over how well they’ve done. They are both rather unsure what is going on. Over lunch Jennifer takes a phone call from Lilian inviting her away on holiday but she isn’t sure if she should leave Brian. Adam says she should definitely go.
• After lunch, Rob asks if things are okay between them after the thing with Ian. Adam is worried about the gay bar but Rob says that wasn’t a problem. Adam doesn’t sound very interested in Rob’s stories. Rob claims Kenton still doesn’t know who put him on the train.
• Brian is happy for Jennifer to go on holiday and doesn’t sound very interested but he is shocked when she tells him about the miscarriage.
