Chalkman suggests a vacation for Matt to an enthusiastic Lilian.
Radio Times: Lilian looks out for her Tiger.
Characters: Jill, Lilian, Neil, Ruth, Shula, Stephen Chalkman, Tony- Jill’s inspecting one of her four hives that’s been destroyed by a badger when Ruth lets slip Shula’s desertion of St. Stephens.
- Stephen Chalkman calls on Lilian, having apparently thought Matt was back from London today rather than tomorrow. He agrees with her about Matt being under pressure and suggests a fortnight’s holiday in the sun to unwind, away from any computers or phones. Chalkie’s reassuring that he can take care of everything in Matt’s absence. Lilian thinks the sooner the better, for Matt’s sake, and she’s going to drag him off whether he likes it or not.
- Tony drops in on Neil and they both start to back out of yesterday’s beer-mat flat gamble. But Neil wins again, saying Christopher doesn’t want the flat after all before Tony can renege. He also tips Tony off not to tell Christopher; they’ll just say Helen got it.
- Jill pesters Shula about St. Stephens, but Shula’s adamant. She’s looking forward to going to Felpersham Cathedral without any extra responsibilities. Jill hopes she’ll return after a break.
