Chris faces up to his problems. Pip offers to solve all Brookfield’s problems.
Radio Times: Pip puts her business case, and Chris has money on his mind.
Characters: Alice, Christopher, David, Elizabeth, Jill, Pat, Pip- After a sleepless night worrying over his finances, Chris takes Alice a cup of tea. He needs a loan to buy Ronnie out, he owes £16K for the van, and they need to save for a house. In typical Aldridge fashion, Alice suggests tapping Peggy for a hand-out, but Chris refuses. This is his problem and he must sort it out.
- Wonder-child Pip claims to have been doing research on the farm’s marketing strategies, and come up with an amazing idea; using social networking. Just as she is about to reveal her plans to David, Jill arrives with the twins, who are riding in a pony club event. Lily lavishes affection on Tig, while her brother wants to try out David’s air-line.
- Alice tries to make Chris see things in a better light. While they would like a place of their own, they have a rent-free cottage, she has no student debt and Chris has a job. Wearily, Chris tries to make her see that it is not just about money, but the cossetted Alice fails to see what the problem is.
- The twins do well, especially Freddy, and devour burgers and fries afterwards. Elizabeth seems relaxed and happy, to the extent that Pat wonders if the healing of the family rift might be taking place. Jill is not sure, but admits it is a start.
- David agrees with Pip about targeting their marketing better, but not about going it alone to market their lamb, instead of through the farmers’ co-op. Pip, sounding like a ten year-old, throws a strop and asks why she bothered. Perhaps it is due to Spencer having to stay home and repair the damage inflicted on the family by his recent escapade.
