  • Neil has good news about Chris: he is being moved to a ward today. However when Darrell asks if he knows of any work, Neil has no good news for him.
  • Pip having started her holiday from university, David loses no time in making clear that he needs and expects her help. She is not best pleased but agrees.
  • Chris is now installed in the ward but is still in a lot of pain. There’s more coming: he asks about Alice’s interview and she tells him the position. They have a month to decide.
  • Pip has found an escapee lamb, separated from his mother and very cold; she has sorted him out for which she gains David’s grateful approval.
  • When Neil relieves Alice at Chris’s bedside, Chris expresses his regret for all the worry he has put his parents through; he is anxious about his business: what will his clients think of his unprofessional conduct? Neil assures him that Ronnie will hold the fort for as long as it takes and all his clients have wished him well. He feels so out of control and he can’t share this with Alice.
  • Now that Darrell has finished at the Aldridges’, Elona is on his case. He is just preparing their invoice – a payment process that takes longer than a brown envelope but Elona mustn’t complain because she wanted him to be above-board. He has designed a flier to distribute and will ring Paul Morgan tomorrow. All this is good, but Elona is not pleased when he ignores a phone call from a ‘mate’ without explanation.
