Christopher is pleased with the article in Borchester Life but less pleased that Alice is being interviewed for a job in Canada.

Radio Times: Alice goes on a covert operation and Susan is bursting with pride.

• Susan is thrilled with the Borchester Life edition featuring Christopher and even he is really pleased. Though Jim isn’t so impressed – a bit better than the first one at least. But he just wants to get the last two interviews out of the way. Susan definitely does the hard sell with Jennifer. Alice will have to get used to being in the spotlight now.
• Alice is having an initial interview with DZT Engineering in Canada. She is doing it from home to avoid her work knowing about it. She says she is really positive about it and he tells her they try to give people more responsibility. She is thrilled. She really likes new challenges. She clearly didn’t want Christopher to know about it either from her reaction when he walks in. And he isn’t impressed either. She tries to say that they contacted her. But it doesn’t matter to him because she said yes. She claims she doesn’t want to worry him but he asks her is she had any idea how that felt to him. She tries to tell him she won’t hear from him again. He says she should still have told him. Alice tries to make up but while Chris calms down a bit, he doesn’t manage to come round completely and leaves in a huff with Alice holding a copy of Borchester Life.
