Clarrie enjoys an evening with Nic’s children and seems to be warming to Nic.

Characters: Clarrie, Emma, Hayley, Nic, Susan, William- Will is fulfilling his promise to babysit Nic’s children; she is determined that he should not pay for her washing machine which he had repaired by a mate.
- Hayley is excited to see that No 1 The Green is on the market but the asking price is a bit more than they can afford. Emma had a late night last night: she tells Hayley that she went back to a guy’s flat even though she did not fancy him; needless to say her mother is not privvy to this revelation.
- Clarrie calls on Will with a rabbit casserole and is surprised to find Nic’s children there, but nevertheless is content to stay. While Will answers his phone, Clarrie serves ice-cream and explains how she makes it. Will has a poacher problem so Clarrie offers to babysit while Will investigates.
- Hayley persuades Emma that she should not beat herself up about her one night stand. She puts it down to the breakup with Callum and Emma does not correct this, although it seems that the real cause lies elsewhere. Hayley suggests a girls’ night out.
- Nic calls for her children and is surprised to find Clarrie in charge and clearly enjoying the experience. They have an amicable chat, including a revelation about William when he was small. Clarrie leaves when Will returns; they can hardly believe it – Will’s mum actually seems to be chilling out.
