Daniel comes of age. Rhys is still discontented with his lot – without Fallon.

Radio Times: It is party time for Daniel, while Fallon lets her feelings show.

Characters: , , , , ,
  • Fallon’s staffing problems are half solved, as she reports to Kenton: part-timer Brian is going full-time, so now Fallon needs only to find a part-timer. Right now she and Rhys have a date with Lynda to rehearse their scene. Meanwhile Daniel makes a debut appearance in The Bull and after being teased about producing some ID, is treated to a birthday pint by Uncle Kenton.
  • On their way to the Village Hall, Rhys and Fallon tip-toe around each other until it’s time to get into character as Beatrice and Benedick – actually they sound as if they are in character already.
  • Kenton steals an hour from The Bull to help Shula with the preparations for Daniel’s party – strangely there’s no sign of Alistair. The ubiquitous Leonie has invited herself – mercifully silently.
  • After the rehearsal the two thespians exchange accusations of trying to impress Lynda. Rhys seems about to suggest something else for this evening but after a chance meeting with Ed, the moment is lost.
  • At the party, Jamie and Daniel arrange that, if Daniel manages to fill his gap year with an internship in the US, Jamie will visit. Shula is in pensive mood, hardly able to believe that Daniel is already 18.
  • Back at The Bull, Ed is disappointed not to find Eddie already there. He opts to wait – a move that is transparent to Rhys, who confides that things are not the same at The Bull for him without Fallon: they were a team but with Kenton and Jolene, he is just not in the loop.
