  • Ruth and David are getting ready for preparing for their first Autumn calving. Though a lot is resting on it – the whole future of the farm. Some other farmers have had problems. Neil has had Josh’s work permit through. David is a bit worried that Josh might not be as available at Brookfield. They’ll see how the wind is blowing when he asks him to do more halter training.
  • Jim tells Fallon he is still being pestered by Lynda to take part in the Christmas show. Rhys turns up at Jaxx but Jim has to dash off to learn about tree dressing.
  • Hayley is getting anxious about her job at Lower Loxley. Even though the report was complimentary about her work, it’s all of the new things that he has mentioned that she hasn’t done. What does she know about adult education? She says she can’t talk to Elizabeth. Later Roy says he’ll have a quiet word with her, to see how the land is lying.
  • Fallon tells Rhys she is a bit worried about business on a Sunday. Maybe she could do more to create a friendly family atmosphere for Sunday afternoon. Board games and maybe some music. After a few more false starts and interruptions, Rhys finally gets around to asking Fallon for a date and she accepts.
  • Hayley gives Jim some advice on tree dressing and how to set up craft activities for children including the need for tables! Jim is very impressed. He also hopes Mike is ready for his photoshoot for Borchester Life in the morning.
  • David and Ruth finally get the go ahead to rebuild the barn from the insurers.
