Darrell admits to Shula he hasn’t seen the Doctor or the Job Centre and Shula tears him off a strip.

Radio Times: Edward expresses his feelings and Darrell tries to make amends.

• Darrell pretends to be interested in Vicky and Bethany and then stings her for £3.
• Caroline tells Oliver she has instructed her solicitors to make a higher offer to Joe. But at least Kathy’s suggestions for health club promotions seem to be paying off. They make an arrangement to see Shula and Alistair. Shula tells Caroline how cross she is with Darrell.
• Ed insists that Oliver won’t allow the hunt near his stock and he and Vicky get some “no dogs” posters made up. Ed is determined it is dogs causing the problem.
• While Caroline and Oliver are at supper, Darrell turns up and tries to apologise. Shula tells him off firmly and says that medication and booze don’t work. And he finally admits that he didn’t go to the Doctor at all. And he didn’t go to the Job Centre either. Shula is furious with him for lying and for not making the effort. He is letting himself down and Rosa and Anna. He tries to say how terrified he was but Shula isn’t listening. Self-pity won’t help. Practical help just might. When she storms back to Caroline and Oliver, he burst into tears.
