Darrell and Elona are running very short of cash and it looks like Darrell is being drawn into some sort of dog fighting scenario.

Radio Times: Elona is feeling low, and Brenda is having a bad day.

Characters: Brenda, Darrell, Des, Elona, Jill, Lilian, Vicky

• Darrell is suffering from a late night at The Bull but is heading off to Home Farm. Later Des calls Darrell to suggest he joins in some “sporting evenings”. They’ll need a new location and maybe a barn at Home Farm would be ideal. Just between Darrell and the gang, all he’ll have to do is let people in through the gates, no need for Brian to know about it. And when Elona finds she is going to have fewer shifts at the Laurels, Darrell is going to have to think about Des’s offer.
• Brenda is still having to deal with Lilian’s absence from the office but Lilian just doesn’t care – Brenda just has to do it. She takes the opportunity to whine to Vicky about it when she bumps into her and Bethany. But Vicky is at least looking into the benefits of Guernsey milk.
• Jill tries to encourage Elona to join the WI. She points out that Nic is even younger than Elona but Elona thinks it is probably not her thing.
• Vicky has a go at Jill about people who think Bethany is a problem when Vicky sees her as a blessing. Jill agrees that some people don’t understand.
• Things go wrong with Brenda trying to cover for Lilian. She isn’t able to cope and Lilian blames her. Lilian is the boss and Brenda just has to cope.
