  • Emma is having a wedding dress fitting, presided over by Clarrie and Susan. They pronounce the material to be wonderful and there will be enough left for the bridesmaid’s dress. Emma plans to use simple garden and hedgerow flowers for her floral arrangements, though Susan isn’t convinced.
  • David is busy with lambing and incurring Jill’s wrath. He should have a warm meal for lunch, not sandwiches. She feels he is overdoing it and needs more help, possibly from Ruth. He counters that she is busy arranging the move. Tempers flare for a moment. Alistair is coming over later to check out the Herefords, the first cows David bought in when he took over at Brookfield. Another wistful moment ensues.
  • Clarrie and Susan are rummaging through their stall’s stock at the village jumble sale. Clarrie shares a bit of news. Pat was overheard saying that Helen is planning a meeting to discuss her return to Ambridge Organics and a possible re-launch event. Emma turns up, hoping to get first pick of the goods on sale.
  • Alistair leaves Brookfield leaving David amongst his beloved Herefords. His thoughts turn to Northumberland. He wonders tearfully, just what is he doing to the animals and his family? In flashback, he hears Phil’s voice announcing that he was leaving Brookfield to him and Ruth, saying just how committed David was to the farm. David’s tears flow thick and fast. Moments later, he bursts in on Jill, wanting to know when the jumble sale was due to finish. It sounds very urgent.
  • As Clarrie and Susan sort sale remnants, David and Jill arrive in a lather trying to find David’s old toy farm. It was sold to a new Ambridge resident who lives in Grange Spinney. David can’t face letting his old farm go and he and his mother rush off to ring doorbells and track it down. Jill comments that if David wants to keep his old farm, then… He replies that he does!
