  • At Justin Elliott’s shoot for the locals, David finally meets the man himself. Brian touts David as a crack shot and Elliott offers a wager on the day’s bag. David diplomatically declines.
  • Lynda briefs Roy as she slips away to the staff party. Roy must miss the festivities as he works the desk. He takes a moment to call Hayley to ask about seeing Abbie over Christmas. Hayley is busy and they arrange to talk later.
  • Justin Elliott is lavish with his compliments to Jennifer over her food and hosting. Elliott’s vintage wines flow freely. David is congratulated on being a champion shot in the morning’s take. Charlie takes a moment to ask David for inside information on Tom and Bridge Farm Organics. Niche farming must be quite a struggle, opines Charlie, and ultimately not worth the work. David heroically holds his temper and gives a noncommittal reply.
  • Lynda insists that a reluctant Roy open his Secret Santa gift. It is aftershave and Lynda tries to get Roy to put a bit on. Misery guts Roy refuses and makes his excuses. Lynda sniffs the bottle and mutters that it smells of burnt rubber!
  • As lunch draws to a close at the shoot, Jennifer tells David that they will miss his family terribly when they are gone. Justin comes over to ask a favour. Can Justin and his architect come by the farmhouse to take some measurements? David is uncomfortable and Brian is surprised that Justin would want to live so near the busy road when Road B is built. David reluctantly agrees to set up a day and time after Christmas.
  • Roy is insistent about seeing Abbie over Christmas although Hayley doesn’t want to unsettle her just as she is getting accustomed to Birmingham. She suggests Roy come to them instead. Roy jumps at the chance; perhaps he can stay for a few days instead of just one?
