David’s unpopularity grows. Kate’s sense of entitlement grows. Lilian’s financial crisis grows.
Radio Times: Ruth wants some answers, and Lilian cannot believe her eyes.
Characters: Brian, David, Jennifer, Kate, Lilian, Ruth- The atmosphere at Brookfield is decidedly frosty, with Ruth barely speaking to David, though her angry silence is probably better than the furious outburst she unleashes at him. Lamely he tells her that those he has so far notified of their change of plan have been less than pleased. Even an Archer can be unpopular, it seems.
- Kate has grand ideas where the refurbishment of her cottage is concerned, though she claims that her aim is a minimalist effect. Even her doting mother protests when Kate demands that Brian should pay not only for the makeover, but for her course fees. When this is relayed to Brian, Kate gets much the same response. Brian tells her flatly to get a job, like other students. Kate storms off. How can they be so unreasonable?
- Jennifer takes Lilian for some retail therapy, to Brian’s relief, no doubt. But all is not well when Lilian’s credit card is declined. She goes to her bank to sort things out, only to discover that Matt has cleared out all her accounts; she has no idea how much money she has left.
