Did Miranda overhear Kaz’s comment about Justin and Lilian? Pip understudies for Toby; the panto gets a glowing review.

Radio Times: Kaz makes an observation, and Mother Goose is reviewed.

Characters: , , , , , ,
  • Kaz visits Helen and they catch up on their respective lives on the outside. Kaz confides that Helen is something of a role model for her and Helen confides that Rob appeared the other week. Despite his sincerity, Kaz warns Helen not to fall for the sugar coating and congratulates Helen that she didn’t succumb to his silver tongue. Kaz thanks Helen for treating her not only to train fares for her and the children, but the panto tickets too.
  • Lynda has summoned Kenton for a line run-through as she is doubtful he knows his lines. He is adamant he knows them, but is merely choosing to embellish them. In Lynda’s view, the reputation of the whole show is in jeopardy, particularly with Tristram Hawkshaw due for this evening’s performance. Pip arrives to send apologies for Toby who is unavoidably detained in Brighton and Lynda is quick to persuade Pip to step into the breach.
  • Justin continues to berate Kenton for going off script, but Lilian thinks he should take it in the spirit of jest it is intended. With Miranda in the audience, Lilian is just grateful for the time they are spending together during the show.
  • Kaz makes a timely but loud comment about the evident off-stage chemistry between Lilian and Justin. Helen urges Kaz to lower her voice, as Miranda is sitting close by. Miranda is nowhere to be seen when Justin goes to find her at the end, which unsettles him. The reviews from Tristram are positively glowing. Lynda is thrilled and Pip receives high praise for playing the goose at such short notice.
