  • Roy is due at this evening’s panto performance. Kirsty and Roy review where he is up to with his online dating. She gives him a few tips about concealing his spreadsheets and wall planners. He is concerned that Tracy Horobin continues to pursue him and works out his strategy for letting her down gently. He has nothing against her personally, but she has children and Roy needs to concentrate on supporting his own children, rather than take on the responsibility of someone else’s.
  • David Ruth and Jill are off to tonight’s panto and it’s just a shame they didn’t go last night to see Pip. It’s the turn of Colin and Colinette’s scenes and Tom and Kirsty play the roles well with fictional lines close to home for them both, making their characters believable.
  • Following the performance, Ruth feels it’s time for some straight-talking with Jill. She, David and the boys were all disappointed with how Christmas went and felt Jill’s attitude created an atmosphere and brought people down. Ruth urges Jill to change her behaviour towards Pip and Toby, but Jill does not feel able to.
  • At after show drinks, Tom makes small talk about their on-stage chemistry, but Kirsty has more pressing news. She is pregnant, due in June and the baby can only be Tom’s. He is shocked but pleased and wants to be involved – if that’s what she wants. Kirsty is unsure but receptive to his offers and suggests that they take it one step at a time.
