  • It’s a pity that the Soil Association wouldn’t approve, or Tom would love to use the empty barn for pigs; David points out it would not be the ideal image. Now here comes Tony with a face as long as a fortnight. David prescribes a pint.
  • In The Bull, Jolene and Eddie are putting the world to rights – kids who are still trouble even when grown up. Jolene is anxious to try something new for Valentine’s Day. What they normally do appeals only to long-married couples; Jolene hankers for the old days, when the event was all about sex, lust, burning passion… Eddie suggests a music night upstairs as an alternative event for the youngsters.
  • Tony hasn’t spoken to Tom about his store-cattle idea; he wouldn’t be interested. He explains to David what happened at the weekend resulting in Helen moving out tomorrow – with Henry. At present he can think of little else.
  • Wow! So much marble! Tom and Kirsty are impressed with Catheridge Hall but it’s out of their league. Tom tells her not to worry about the cost but when she changes the subject to the matter of where to live, suggesting that they would be better living away from Bridge Farm, he objects that a house elsewhere would cost too much, involving the purchase of land. But if that’s what Kirsty wants, that’s what she shall have. That’s the right response, Tom!
  • Eddie calls on Ed to discuss George’s unhappiness at being separated from Holly. Ed knows. Will has been clever about it, telling George that Holly is happier with Mitch. Ed intends to do something about it but thinks maybe he is not the best person to do it. He has a cunning plan.
