Radio Times: Ed faces a tough dilemma.
Characters: Bert, Ed, Fallon, Nic, Phil, William- Fallon’s band seems set for stardom; they have been booked to appear in Edinburgh, so Ed agrees to go shopping with Fallon for some clothes to take with her.
- Bert’s suspicions about Freda’s motives in slimming and acquiring new hairdos are intensified when Fallon comments that Jolene has been giving Freda make-up tips. Comfort food is what Bert needs, so he goes to the shop to stock up. He meets Phil, who offers to show him how to make his own.
- Will and Nic take their three children to Felpersham, where Nic has problems with George. When he won’t walk properly, she drags him along, causing him to fall. It’s witnessed by Ed and Fallon. Ed’s upset, but Fallon thinks it’s just how life is with toddlers, and urges Ed to stay out of it.
- Bert and Phil produce a batch of pies and cakes; just what Freda and Jill don’t produce any more.
- Ed’s so upset about George that he faces Will and tells him Nic’s ill-treating the little boy. Unsurprisingly, Will thinks it’s Ed up to his old tricks of wrecking his relationship, and tells Ed where to go.
