• Pip is disappointed to be missing out on taking their Hereford to the show but she can’t afford to miss the time. She’s thinking about doing a degree with a business element so they can market things like the beef better.
• Eddie is setting up at the Show to sell Christmas decorations including the trees. Ruth is surprised to see them. After a few tense moments, the Hereford wins Supreme Champion, Native Breeds.
• There is a close moment when Pip is about to practise her hymn in the church when Jill comes in. Pip manages to make up an excuse that she’s come to dust the crib but it’s a near thing.
• Eddie is so pleased with the way Christmas trees from the “man from Penny Hassett” have sold that he is planning to go back for more to sell round the village.
