Radio Times: Emma takes to the road.

  • Neil is taking Emma for her driving test but is concerned about the condensation on the windows of the caravan; he is shocked to learn that it was ice earlier this morning. He seems sufficiently moved to do something about it – maybe.
  • In The Bull, when Jennifer books a table for six next Friday she gets the full force of Sid’s indifference about the fate of the staff of Grey Gables.
  • Emma has passed. Susan decides she will insure her car for Emma to drive, as a congratulation present. Her deeply caring dad has a present too: an electric heater!
  • On the Bull’s internet terminal, Kenton has found the cookery book he was seeking as a Valentine present for Kathy. Sid has a present too: he has seen Caroline’s ad in Borchester Life. Jolene has her fingers crossed that the hotel chain will buy Grey Gables and leave the ‘high and mighty’ Mrs Pemberton out in the cold.
  • It’s not a good day for Adam: he has called Matt, only to be told that he will not be hassled. Then Jennifer announces that Debbie will be home on Wednesday; that’s just about made his day.
  • Susan leaves Neil in no doubt about what she thinks of his gesture; Emma shouldn’t be out there in the caravan – and all because he is too proud. Neil will not give way and further debate is curtailed by the arrival of Kenton. Emma had called at Jaxx earlier seeking an answer about part-time working; unfortunately Fran is not able to do it but if Emma can find someone to share with she can keep her job, otherwise Kenton’s hands are tied and he will have to find someone else.
